Youth Classes

Penny Sablove Sensei

Aikido is a modern non-violent martial art. It is based on fostering harmony with self, others and the world at large. The term, Aikido, is composed of three Japanese words, ai (love or harmony), ki (energy or spirit) and do (path or way). It is translated in many ways, including "The Art of Peace" and "The Way of Harmony with Life-Energy". Our classes provide a non-competitive, mutually supportive and safe environment to learn how to move fluidly with a partner, apply principles of harmony to self-defense, fall safely and relax under pressure.

Kids' classes at Heart of San Francisco Aikido are open to all kids ages 7-11 years. These classes integrate Aiki games, rolling, falling, and partner practice with an emphasis on having fun.
