First time in the United States

Kinomichi Seminars with Takeharu Noro Sensei

We are privileged to offer a special series of memorial seminars dedicated to Masamichi Noro (1935-2013, uchi-deshi to Osensei and founder of 200+ dojos in Europe and Africa in the 60s and 70s) by his son Takeharu (above), who continues the creative lineage of his father at the Korindo Dojo in Paris.

Takeharu Noro Sensei will be coming from Paris, France to teach in the United States for the first time. Masamichi Noro was uchi-deshi to Osensei 1955-1961. He later developed a method of teaching Aikido originally called "Méthode Noro de l'aikido" and now called "Kinomichi." This beautiful and enthralling technique has been carried on and is now taught by Takeharu Noro Sensei.

Noro Videos

Takeharu Noro Sensei demonstrates Kinomichi with several of his students at the Korindo Dojo in Paris. The film is shot from above, so that his fully committed extension and graceful trajectories are easily visible. The video has several short segments, proceeding from moderate to very vigorous practice.

Masamichi Noro Sensei begins with a palpable sense of prayer, and proceeds into an unbelievably inspired level of advanced jo work. It is hard to believe that we are looking at a man who was virtually paralyzed after his car accident in 1966.

The Basics: Masamichi Noro Sensei, between 1985-1995
