Getting Started with Aikido
The next Beginners' Class starts Wednesday, February 1, 2012.
It's easy to get started - Heart of San Francisco Aikido offers a new beginning class for adults (teens invited, too) starting the first week of nearly every month. Taught by advanced instructors, each class covers Aikido's non-violent philosophy and its physical expression. In the classes, you will learn to move fluidly with a partner, to apply the principles of harmony to self-defense, to fall safely, and to relax under pressure.
Each beginning class is designed as a complete introduction to Aikido. Whether or not you choose to continue training, you will take away from the class a basic understanding of one of the most profound and graceful martial arts in the world.
Heart of San Francisco Aikido offers an introductory classes that meet twice a week. Beginners may join during the first week of every month and are invited to attend the Beginner's and All Levels classes. If the Sunday and Wednesday class schedule does not work for you, please contact us to work out an alternative schedule.
New students are encouraged to attend two months of beginners classes before becoming regular dojo members and advancing to the Intermediate classes. (Please note that we do not accept new beginners in December, but those who start in November may continue to train.)
The Beginners' Class fee includes a practice uniform (called a "gi.").
